Blue Sky Rain

Blue Sky Rain (Excerpt)

So I left!

The Sunday before I left The Job, late July, I went in to clean out my office. When I left the
building, it was storming, raining. As I drove towards the freeway on-ramp, I’m looking at blue
sky – but it’s pouring rain! And the song began… Blue Sky Rain, Blue Sky Rain, There’s nothing
there, but I’m feelin’ so much pain…

The lead guitar was played through a volume pedal with plenty of whammy bar, reminiscent of a pedal steel guitar (Greg called it ‘whammy-slide’). The lead solo got me an email from Tim: “what guitar and amps were you using?”. Nailed it! I’ll never tell… very violin-like, dontcha think?

Lyrics:
Blue Sky Rain, Blue Sky Rain
The skies are clear, but I am drenched again (with tears)

You stole my heart, I’m torn apart
There’s nothing there, but I’m feelin’ so much pain

It’s not what I want – To feel this way
It’s making me crazy – So won’t you stay (with me)

Lyrics: (c) 2007 Mahlon Balderston
